On Tuesday, January 17th, our Club celebrated the importance of the Rotary Foundation. Palo Verde’s banquet room was filled with celebrities — District Governor Tonya Watson, Past District Governors (John Pennypacker, Gary Whiting, Abe Feder, Barb Feder, & Tom Burns) — plus most of our Past Presidents —and a good number of our members...

Headlining the evening was Abbey Hawthorne - Advisor to the Rotaract Club of ASU and Director of Big West Rotaract. She told us about her many visits abroad as a representative of Rotary. District Governor Tonya Watson traced her West Virginia beginnings and how the seeds planted by Rotarians make the difference in so many lives that otherwise would be destitute. It was also a night of good food and good fellowship as ninety-four of us spent a special evening together. Another highlight was the Paul Harris Fellowships that were awarded: Dave Cramer PHF; Lita Jean Mills PHF +1; Sharon McKoy PHF +1; John McKoy PHF +2;  Morris Johnson PHF +3; Mark Grady PHF +3; Julian Pickens PHF +3; Bill Schink PHF+5; Rob Romanin PHF +6; Lee Widener PHF +8.
