Tom Burns joined the Chandler Rotary Club in August 1972
and transferred to the Sun Lakes Rotary Club in July 2014. While in the Chandler club he served on several Club Committees and as Club President in 1982-83.  He then served in Arizona District 5510 as an Assistant Governor in 2005-07 and then as District Governor in 2007-08.  Tom accomplished 40 years of perfect attendance.
During his high school years, he served as a Page in the United States Senate in 1955-56 and then went on to higher education by attending three major universities; the University of Oklahoma, Arizona State University and the University of Arizona.  Through his education he obtained his law degree and was commissioned as a 2nd Lt in the Army and served from 1964-66.  He then when into the Army Reserves and retired with the rank of Captain and Company Commander. Tom had a private law practice for 14 years and was also an Arizona Administrative Law Judge.
Tom was widowed in 2015, has three children and enjoys retirement, golf and serving the greater Sun Lakes community and education projects through Rotary.  He has been a Proud Rotarian for 46 years.
