Our November Rotarian of the Month recognition goes to Maureen Alger who is also a 2nd Generation Rotarian after her father who is a Rotarian in New Jersey. Maureen joined our Rotary club in October 2018 and is a 3rd grade teacher at Auxier Elementary School in the Chandler Unified School District.
Maureen is everywhere! She recently published and gathered information on two Club surveys, concerning in-person meetings vs virtual “Zoom” and our club meeting SunRiser newsletter. Maureen serves on the Education Committee and stepped up and led the September and October 2020 Teachers of the Month selections and helped present the awards at each Chandler school. Additionally, she is obtaining a decorated holiday tree for the Festival of Lights at our Sun Lakes Medical Center and is chairing our Veterans’ Day program on Nov. 11th and also leading the Auxier Elementary program to honor our Veterans, and involved in our 3rd Grade Dictionary project. And with all this, she is helping with our Dolly Parton Imagination Library and helps deliver the Sun Lakes Splash Newspaper.
We are glad and honored to have Maureen as a member in our Sun Lakes Rotary Club. We are PEOPLE OF ACTION.
