Alan Kurth was born and raised in Minot, North Dakota and received his college education at Minot State University. He met and married his sweetheart, Janet 54 years ago, and together they have raised a son, John who is an architect and daughter, Kristin who is a Delta Airline Pilot and they enjoy their 5 grandchildren. Alan and Janet have been in Sun Lakes for the last 7 years...
While living in Minot, ND, Alan owned his own Minot Olds and Nissan Auto Dealership for 40 years before retiring in 2006. During this time, he was in Rotary for 36 years. Before joining the Sun Lakes Rotary Club in November 2016, he was a member of the Minot Rotary Club where he served as Sgt-at-Arms, Chair of most Club Committees and as Club President in 1987-88. He is a Paul Harris Fellow in support of the Rotary Foundation. Additionally, he was President of the North Dakota Auto Dealers Association and served in the US Army and Army Reserve from 1960 to 1977.
Alan states that he enjoys having fun and making friends through Rotary. He proudly joins others in serving his local community and the opportunity to help youth through the several education programs and projects supported by the Sun Lakes Rotary Club.
