Dave was born in 1950 and raised on a dairy farm in eastern North Dakota. He graduated from high school in 1968 and earned an athletic scholarship from a small North Dakota college to play football, basketball and baseball...
Here he also met wife, Ilene and they have been married for 47 years, have three sons and seven grandchildren. After college graduation in 1972 he taught and coached for two years in North Dakota. Then in 1974 he left education and started a new career in the savings and loan business as a mortgage broker. This then became his new life career in the finance industry where he eventually owned for 19 years his own mortgage brokerage company in Fargo, North Dakota which he sold and went back into the world of banking with Western State Bank.
Dave and Ilene purchased a home in Sun Lakes in 2002 and used it as a rental property and second home for 16 years before making their permanent move to Sun Lakes in 2018. Along with their move, Dave also transferred his employment with Western State Bank to its Chandler location where he is the Vice President and Mortgage Loan Officer.
Before joining the Sun Lakes Rotary Club in April 2018, Dave was a member of the Fargo Lions Club and found himself very involved in community projects. He is bringing that same community involvement and let’s get things done attitude to this Sun Lakes Rotary Club. Welcome to the world of Rotary and our Sun Lakes Community.
