Ed Anderson is from Minnesota and attended North Dakota State and the University of North Dakota. He now lives in Sun Lakes and is working as a real estate agent for West USA Realty. However, after his 1961-1964 service in the US Army most of his vocational life was spent as a retail and wholesale jewelry executive...
Ed spent most of his career in the Midwest and when he came to Arizona, he shifted gears and became the owner of Budget Blinds of the East Valley and Anderson Art & Frames. Since moving to Sun Lakes in 2015 he was invited to join our Sun Lakes Rotary Club and has become an involved member of several committees, especially on the Golf and Pancake Fundraisers in addition to quickly become the Club Vice President, President Elect and represents our Rotary club on the Chandler Chamber of Commerce.  Additionally, he is a Rotary Foundation Paul Harris Fellow and a Sun Lakes Rotary Foundation 2000 Legacy Guard Member.  No wonder the club members honored and recognized him this last October as Rotarian of the Month.

July 1st kicked off our 32nd year of Rotary in Sun Lakes that started in 1986 with 5 members, growing to a high of 140 and now 90 men and women dedicated to Service above Self in our greater Sun Lakes Community.  Club President, Ed is encouraging the membership to keep building on our past accomplishments:
  • Provided personal dictionaries to more than 44,000 3rd Graders
  • Provided the CHOICES program to over 50,000 9th Graders
  • Have given more than $100,000 for the eradication of Polio world wide
  • Have contributed over $700,000 to the Rotary Foundation

And, support our new major effort for this Rotary year:
  • The Navajo Water project is to provide 25 or more homes on the Navajo Nation with inside running tap water. Many of these people, our Northern neighbors, presently have their water delivered into 50 gallon holding barrels above ground in their yards via a water truck.  Our goal is to install underground cisterns which will provide running water into the home.
