The CO2 Dragster program is a joint program between the Chandler Unified School District and our Sun Lakes Rotary Club. High School students use Computer Aided Design (CAD) to design their Dragster and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) to help construct their Dragster. At the end of the program, a District wide competition takes place where students give presentations and race their vehicles on a 20-meter track. The competition ends with ‘Knock Out’ drag races.
For the 2019-2020 school year there were 12 teams representing 3 CUSD high schools, Perry, Casteel and Hamilton. The final competition was held at Perry High School with parents, students and Rotary volunteers cheering the competing student teams on to victory for their Dragster.
The Sun Lakes Rotary Club is happy to supply the judges, shirts for the judges, trophies for the winning teams and lunch for all who attend competition.
