So many of our members are involved in club activities, fundraising and projects and there seems to always be one that really becomes involved and provides their leadership, knowledge and skills to make things happen.  This year it was Chuck Deuth, a member of our club for the past 4 years...

Chuck has chaired our 3rd Grade Dictionary project which provides over 3,500 dictionaries to every 3rd grader in the Chandler Unified Schools and other schools in the greater Sun Lakes/Chandler community.  Over the last 10 years this has amounted to over 35,000 dictionaries.  It is through this effort we hope to help each child become better spellers, readers and speakers.  Additionally, he volunteered to chair another large education project called CHOICES where Rotarians work with 9th graders in the Chandler Unified Schools.  This effort is to help each student better understand why it’s important to make the right choices in selecting the tougher courses that will help them graduate and go on to higher learning and a career of their choice and not become a dropout.  Over the years this project has touched several thousand students and has received very high ratings by both students and teachers.

A well-deserved recognition and our clubs “thank you” for your involvement to provide the leadership in these two major projects.
