This was our 21st year for our Annual “Charity” Pancake Breakfast. The event ranks as the second most important fundraising event for our Rotary club.
With the money raised from the Breakfast we can help fund such community activities as providing over 3,800 third-grade dictionaries for Chandler Schools, Choices program for high school freshman, Teacher of the Month and money for their classroom, the AWIM and F1 car program in support of math and science, Kids Shopping Spree for needed cloths, Mathews Crossing Food Bank and several college and vocational scholarships...
This year we estimated that over 1,100 people attended the event at Sun Lakes Oakwood Country Club. The guests were treated to our gourmet Rotary blueberry pancakes, bacon, sausage and a selection of breakfast drinks. Folks were encouraged to come back for seconds. And we want to thank the High School Rotary Interactors from Hamilton and Casteel High Schools for their help during the event as without them, it would be very difficult to help this many people with a high quality of service.
To help with fund raising and to keep the guests having a good time while the guests were eating we conducted four raffles that cost anywhere from $5 to $20 depending on the number of tickets purchased. This year we included four BBQ’s with a value of $250. Thanks to our sponsors for their great gifts that could be raffled and auctioned off during the event.
We look forward to next year when we will be putting on the 22nd Annual Breakfast again in November 2018. Again, we express our sincere THANK YOU to the community at large for supporting this fundraising event. See you next year.
