Sun Lakes Rotary (Chartered April 22, 1986) is a leadership organization made up of men and women from local businesses, professional, education, civic and emerging leaders.  We meet regularly, get to know each other, form friendships, and through that we’re able to get things done in our greater Sun Lakes community.  Come join us and share our passion for community service and friendship.

On Sunday, March 11th, the Sun Lakes Rotary Club will hold its 25th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Oakwood Country Club (Click Here For Entry Form).  This tournament represents the Club’s major fund raiser of the year, allowing it to support numerous charities in Chandler and around the world. For instance, the Club has given dictionaries to more than 48,000 third graders in CUSD; taught over 50,000 ninth graders that the choices they make now, good or bad, will affect their lives forever; given scholarships to high school seniors, taken underprivileged children on clothing shopping sprees; and contributed more than $100,000 to eradicate polio worldwide. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from the tournament benefit these charities...
 
Mark D Stapels is the second of eight children born on February 22, 1947 in Detroit Michigan.
Being the older brother, he spent a great deal of time changing diapers, babysitting, washing dishes plus other chores.  These responsibilities taught him work ethics, care giving, and a sense of humor that would become helpful skills later in life...
 
Dick was born the oldest of 4 siblings and raised in the Chicago area of Austin.  He was active in both Cub and Boy Scouts and like most other young boys, he started his business career delivering newspapers on his bicycle.  During his early education, he developed an interest in competitive swimming which continued through high school and on into college.  After graduation from Austin High School he attended and graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, IL...
 

In May 2017, fifty-one Apple laptops were donated to the Hamilton High School Social Services Department for use by students in need. These laptops needed refurbishing and updated software. Rajani Rastogi, Hamilton High School Social Services worker, approached the Sun Lakes Rotary Club seeking funds to update the laptops. Revive IT, located in Mesa, agreed to refurbish and provide the updates, installing Windows 7 and Office HB 2010 for $2,000! The SLRC Board of Directors approved financing... 

 
The Sun Lakes Rotary Club awarded its prestigious Rotarian of the Month award to Doug Baker who lives in the Sun Lakes Oakwood Country Club. He was honored because of his tireless efforts to make certain the Splash appears on Sun Lakes driveways every month; a service he has provided for over ten years...
The Dictionary Project has been one of Sun Lakes Rotary Club’s most successful and rewarding projects that students, teachers, and Rotarians look forward to each year.  The project was started in 2003 and this year marks our 14th year of distributing dictionaries to all 3rd graders in the Chandler Unified School District and other schools other schools outside of the District, including Indian Reservations, private schools, and Title 9 programs in the immediate area.  Over 45,000 dictionaries have been distributed since the project began...
